In 2014, Tim Burton's "Big Eyes" was released. It is an autobiographical film based on the true story of Walter and Margaret Keane, known to all as the painter of the disproportionately large eyes who won the hearts of Americans in a truly surreal story.
The story behind Big Eyes has all the ingredients of a surefire bestseller: love, betrayal, deception, fame, fraud, alcoholism, a legal drama, and even a spiritual quest.

Many of you will remember the film "Big Eyes" (2014) directed by Tim Burton. It is based on the true story of Margaret Keane, the artist who was exploited by her husband, an impostor who for years took credit for others.
It is an absolutely incredible story, full of numerous twists and particularly interesting food for thought.
In the video and series, we'll focus primarily on analyzing the real-world data and cultural impact of the Keane phenomenon. This way, you can both watch the film and follow the series for maximum insight.
Ours is a society in which we prefer to condemn the weak and, at most, incriminate the bears. Conversely, the crime of fraud almost inspires a form of perverse admiration for the perpetrator.
To avoid any misunderstanding, we want to clarify that Walter Keane's behavior is absolutely condemnable.
At the same time, he is such a strong personality that he deserves specific attention, given the leading role he plays in the story.
Although Christoph Waltz (whom many of you will remember from his collaborations with Tarantino, starting with the excellent "Inglourious Basterds," which won him an Oscar) is once again sumptuous, his performance falls short: due to script and screenplay limitations, let's be clear.
We'll try to give you the most faithful image of Walter Keane, through his delirious writings and interviews. You'll discover something much more complex: a "dark charm" that Tim Burton himself found reflected in.
