We are incredibly excited to bring you our new animated video series where we answer some of the most commonly asked drone questions in a fun and creative way! Each animation is created by local artists so every week we'll have a new style and new answers for you!

This week's topic in Drones in Agriculture is "Landmapping". In this video, we take a look at what it is and how it can be used!

"Mapping crops and scouting locations are great ways that drones are being used to help with agriculture. The data that drones can gather is important to farmers and is invaluable as tools for time and resource management.

In 2014, there were roughly 450,000 drone units shipped around the world. Over 7.8 million units of consumer drones are estimated to have shipped by the end of 2021 alone. The Pilot Institute has an article about stats and trends from 2021 on their website.

This data can be used to plan future harvests. Being able to accurately measure terrain, climate, soil conditions, plant health as well as vegetation, the data can be used to make more informed decisions about scheduling, fertilizing, and more!

Drone data is collected in real-time, leading to improved accuracy of data. This also means that responses can be created and deployed faster, leading to lower costs and less time spent."
