This week we ask "Drones in agriculture? What do they do?" The short answer is A LOT! Take a look at the transcript below to learn the long answer, or watch the video!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Drones have revolutionized the agricultural sector, providing the industry with much-needed technological support, especially now that farmers have to produce enough food for the rapidly increasing population.
People have moved out from this industry for years, citing concerns such as hard work and less pay. More people went into corporate jobs or services sector, further reducing manpower. Thankfully drones came just at the right time, providing the workers and farm managers with a powerful information gatherer. So what can drones do on a farm?
Drone photography itself can be used to monitor the progression of plants over time and capture information that may otherwise be difficult to recognize from the ground. For example, you may be unaware of certain areas that are flooding with water or isn't getting proper nutrients.
3D or 2D models can also help identify plant diseases, plant counts, find growth variables, identify problematic areas, and monitor progress. Information like this can diagnose problems faster and help farmers make quicker and more informed decisions when it comes to treatment options.
Drones are also being used in the field to help spray crops with pesticides and fertilizers, helping farmers and workers reduce their exposure to harmful chemicals while more accurately spraying crops than traditional tractors. You can even use drones to monitor your live stock! Some farmers have even used drones to help herd their livestock stating it's faster, and surprisingly doesn’t spook your cows!
Advance drone techniques such as drone mapping, spraying, and monitoring can pave the way for healthier crops, increased yield productivity, fewer resources needed for monitoring, more improved decision making, and over-all more money with less work!"
