1987 - Birmingham Superprix - Wallace and Moreno
This is the live ITV footage of the fantastic battle between a desperate Andy Wallace and a surging Roberto Moreno (and his team-mate Mauricio Gugelmin played a part as well) at the near end of the F3000 race at the Birmingham Superprix in 1987.
before the last few laps from the end. The situation became desperate for Wallace as he tried to fend off Maurico Gugelmin and a fast charging Roberto Moreno.
Eventually at the Ferodo Corner, he outbraked himself and tried to recover quickly as he could but he finished 5th.
I have emailed Andy Wallace himself and he said that his off was caused by a long brake pedal.
His brakes was shot and he left it late to make it around the Ferodo Corner.
