Over the course of a couple weeks, while working at my laptop, I noticed the motor really seemed to be struggling to rewind the mainspring. Quickly made a mental note to address the issue, but unfortunately it quit working before the round tuit appeared. I could tap on the clock face, and it would rewind, so I knew it wasn't as serious as the failed motor brush from last Octember.
Finally, I had time to fix the issue. Initially, a quick blast of deoxit on the contact points got it going, but of course, things couldn't be that easy. After opening up the movement, I cleaned the contact points with a nail file, followed by a quick blast of deoxit, and carefully bending one of the tabs ever so slightly to close a little faster, before the spring ran out of momentum.
Hopefully this one is good to go for a long time!
