How to Replace A Receptacle
Replacing a receptacle is pretty straightforward and easy to do. Obviously, make sure power is turned off at the breaker. In this video I walk you through the entire process of replacing a damaged power outlet receptacle.
Your receptacle may have two sets of wires (2 blacks, 2 whites). If that is the case, it means that there is another receptacle downline from this one that is fed through it. In that case, just attach both black wire to the gold screws (hot) and both white wires to the silver screws (neutral). Likely, both of the ground wires are twisted together with only one wire to attach to the ground screw. That is ok.
