The backyard chickens have arrived!! If you’ve been following along with the channel for any period of time, you will know that several months ago, we were given a chicken coop. There were several things I had to do to it to get it ready for chickens.
I plumbed water out to the coop to make it easy to clean and water them. I had to fix one of the doors that was falling off. And, I had to build a new ramp up into the coop.
All that is finished now, and I have been looking for laying hens with not very much success.
We had finally decided just to get some chicks and raise them, but you know how long it takes to get eggs when you do that.
Fortunately, I ran into an old friend that runs a missionary training center called HEART, and he said they had too many chickens right now!!
Today, I brought them home, and we could be more excited!
