In this video I pose a problem, and walk through the solution using Fusion360 and 3D Printing.
As a maker/hacker I constantly encounter problems in design or repair, which is part of the enjoyment I receive. I try to remember to enjoy the journey as I push to finish and complete the task.
The Problem: (easy one right?)
I wanted to mount a webcam over my lowes Kolbalt Workbench. After getting the webcam I soon discovered there was no easy way to mount the camera with out drilling into the frame; something I didn't really want to do.
The Solution:
After some time thinking about how to accomplish this task, I measured up the workbench overhang for height and wall thickness. It was at this point it dawned on me, I should make something that will grab the lip of the overhang and be easily re-positioned across the entire width of the bench.
So with my measurements in hand and my initial idea, I opened up Fusion360, my CAD design software of choice (which I'm very very new to) I started sketching out my idea's.
Watch the video to see how I did it.
This IS why 3D Printing doesn't SUCK.
