My Trainspotting Fails 2024 – No. 3 was painful
Things don't always go according to plan, neither on the track nor off it. And so, in 2024, I captured quite a few things on film, but not everything – or at least not in the way I had intended.
... Here are a few scenes that could have gone better:
• Almost missed the FlixTrain
• Missed the doors closing on the FlixTrain
• Slipped on an icy bridge
• Missed the Swiss Intercity train
• Missed the Vectron locomotive on the shunting rig – twice in a row
• Missed the rescue train and then got lost
• Couldn't get my phone camera to work and almost missed the mail train
• Missed the Italian State Railways Intercity train
• Missed the Swiss freight train
• Ruined a shot of a Vossloh DE 2700 locomotive
• Missed a shunting maneuver involving three Class 218 locomotives
• Memory card full – again with a Vossloh DE 2700 locomotive
• Ruined a shot of a Class 218 497 locomotive departing
• Missed a shunting maneuver involving two diesel locomotives
• Missed the ICE power car in the freight train
• Missed the Vectron locomotive on the shunting rig
• Almost missed a Vossloh G 2000 BB locomotive with a freight train

Autofocus focused on blades of grass In focus
• Simultaneous running of two freight trains
• Two hours of standing around
• Autofocus prevented recording
