In this second part of my Porsche Boxster S 981 Oregon trip I wake up next to the Oregon Dunes. After a chilly night, I go and explore the dunes, and then make my way over inland, direction of Crater Lake. First I spend the night in Jackson County, where a friendly park ranger supplies me with some firewood. With an extra blanket I made sure to have had a good night rest, ready for an epic scenic drive up to Crater Lake. Against all odds, I arrive there on the first day they've been open in 4 (!!!) years! It was pure luck and a good dose of stubborness that made me go up to the lake, and boy o boy was it worth it. The drive up the rim was one of the most awesome drives I've ever done. The walls of snow, I've never seen anything like it. And the car! Wow what a dream car to drive. It handles SO well. If you haven't experienced the Porsche Boxster S 981... you've truly been missing out. This is one of the best cars I've ever had the pleasure of driving. After a hearty lunch I head further east, towards the direction of Bend Oregon, and onwards to stay the night at the Prineville Reservoir State Park (with my next destination being the Painted Hills, even further east). I arrive at night and it was going to be the coldest night yet, coming it below freezing! Join me for this unique road trip across beautiful Oregon, in one heck of a vehicle to take camping, the 981 Porsche Boxster S.
