This week’s riddim is one I cooked up fresh and named “Chalice in Wonderland.”
I’ve been really, really craving that Fat Freddy’s Drop vibe lately – they’re a band that’s seen me through some heavy times, so I wanted to bring that same soulful, bouncing energy into this one.
As I was running the track, I found myself singing the lyrics to Blackbird… and it just felt right. So I ended up singing it live while dubbing – total last-minute, improvised moment.
It turned out to be something kind of special.
