If you are using Wayland this might work? I don't know.

To list a GPU:
lspci | grep -i VGA
I sure was missing the chance to boot into the BIOS during POST.
Wasn't that big a deal until it was.
I am more glad that I already had a GPU & was/am able to utilize it. Getting it out of the box and into a machine.
I can actually see a difference in the speed. Boots up, shuts down and transcodes video files much much faster.
To be clear:
1: I plugged a DP to HDMI dongle into the PC for long time
2: Would not show POST, everything else was fine
3: I inserted the Nvidia card & got the non-free drivers installed.
Now I see the POST & have the chance to enter the BIOS.
This took the better part of the afternoon but I was determined to either make it work or have a concrete plan for the HP.
Thanks for watching. I know that this is a very specific/esoteric subject but I hope it helps just one person.
