Singer guitarist Alan Merrill, doing a live version of Rock N Roll Part. 2 at the Cutting Room NYC, on May 10th of 2005. Alan is supported by some glam rock all stars on this show. On drums (from the original Gillter Band, also The Eurythmics and XTC) is Pete Phipps, on bass Dave Glover (formerly of Brian Connolly's Sweet, and Slade 2), and on the white explorer guitar is dynamo Jan Tilley (ex of The Ronnie Spector group, Hedwig and The Angry Inch, and a principal actor in the original off Broadway cast of "Prey For Rock N Roll"). The show was a part of The Beat Goes On series.
This was the core band unit that contributed to two of Alan Merrill's solo albums -"Cupid Deranged" and "Aleecat."
Alan Merrill was the lead singer and bass player of The Arrows, and in 1975 wrote and recorded the first original version of "I Love Rock N Roll." He has since switched from bass and has more recenly played guitar with Derringer, Meat Loaf, Vodka Collins and of course on his own solo albums.
