The Taj Mahal, an epitome of love and an architectural wonder, stands majestically on the banks of the Yamuna River in Agra, India. Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, this breathtaking monument is an unparalleled example of Mughal architecture, blending Persian, Islamic, and Indian influences. Some legends suggest Shah Jahan planned a Black Taj Mahal, but he was deposed by his son Aurangzeb and imprisoned in Agra Fort, where he spent his last years gazing at his creation. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, the Taj Mahal attracts millions of visitors each year. Despite challenges like pollution and environmental threats, it remains an icon of love and artistic brilliance, standing timeless as one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
