Derby - the Museums and the Cathedral
Derby, in the East Midlands of England, has several museums showcasing its rich history and culture.
The Derby Museum and Art Gallery features a diverse collection of paintings, ceramics, and artifacts, including pieces from acclaimed local painter Joseph Wright. In contrast, the Derby Silk Mill is a UNESCO-designated site and the world's oldest surviving factory. It charts the development of the industrial revolution and the role of the city in the textile industry. Meanwhile, the Pickford House Museum offers a glimpse into the Georgian era with its beautifully restored interior and fine art collection.
