Can you believe what $5 (around 600 BDT) can get you in a remote Bangladeshi village? Today, I’m taking you to a tiny, traditional barber shop in Jhenaidah for the ultimate makeover.
As a European traveling through rural Bangladesh with my friend Mazhar @mazharpictures I needed to look my best because something big was happening—I was invited for interviews by National TV Channels and Newspapers!

The $5 Full Service: I visited a local village salon for a complete transformation. This included a Haircut, Professional Shave, and a surprising Face Facial—all topped off with an incredible, traditional head and shoulder massage that felt like a 5-star spa!
The Rural Vibe: Experience the authentic atmosphere of a village bazaar barber shop where the community gathers and stories are shared.
National Media Spotlight: After the glow-up, I headed back to Mazhar’s home to meet journalists from Bangladesh’s biggest media outlets, including Bangladesh Pratidin and News 24.
