This video looks at the ideas and shape of quartics graphs. It looks at the basic quartic before looking at more complex examples. The video forms part of the Year 11 Units 1 and 2 (VCE) Mathematical Course and is a pre-requisite for the Year 12 course. In Methods you need to know the shapes of various graphs. In this video I look at quartics and how we can solve for crossing points on the x- and y-axes and how we might go about sketching them. I look at what odd and even functions are and show how we can test a function using basic mathematics. There are lots of worked examples all explained in an easy to understand way.
