A 4 week old puppy in critical condition!!!
An open wound filled with maggots is not how a small pup at 4-6 weeks should be! But, that’s the condition a good soul found his neighborhood street dog in. Thankfully, he didn’t look away and reported him to us. His name is Potti and he is in very critical condition. We had no choice but to pull him away from his mother to treat his wounds or he would die. He was completely drained, sad, and in pain because the wound on his backside was so deep. He’s clearly been suffering since he was born!!
Our team has begun treating his wounds. We hoped to make his life better. We found a foster where he can fully heal before reuniting him with his mother in a few weeks.
Suffering is all too common in the Streets of India and that is why our team fights everyday, one dog at a time. We don’t have the resources to keep these dogs off the Street so we have to treat them and let them go back where they live to fight another day. Monsoon (fall/ rainy) season is especially tough because small wounds can quickly become infested with maggots.
