Note: You can turn on (or off) my notes in the video's subtitles. Give it a look-see because it literally took all me all week (Or not, I promise I will not think any less of you). Also, the MIDI music is going to sound a bit different. It's being run through VirtualMIDISynth using the "Timbres of Heaven V4.0" Soundfont (a personal favorite of mine for all my MIDI needs).

This playthrough of Dark Forces was done with The Force Engine. A reversed-engineered engine rebuild designed to play Dark Forces, and in the future, Outlaws. You can read the feature highlights as well as download the latest version of the engine here: https://theforceengine.github.io/

Star Wars: Dark Forces was released in 1995 by Lucas Arts. A 3D First Person Shooter with 2D sprites for its character models and weapons. At the time, the technical definition would be "Doom Clone" as the term FPS had yet to fall into general use.
The game is well regarded and remembered for three main reasons:
#1 Being Star Warsy as all get out.
#2 Being decidedly not crap.
#3 Kyle-Flippin-Katarn!

Well, that should do for the primer. Enjoy (Now in glorious 4K resolution)!
