We will create our own remote control for our PC or Mac today, using the Raspberry PICO, Circuit Python, the KY-040 rotary encoder and the HID Adafruit library.
Our little box can be used to change volume, mute, pause and start videos or send predefined keyboard commands (which can be used to start programs linked to specific short-cuts).
We use the IDE Thonny an a simple Raspberry Pico.
