Critical appraisal of medical journal articles is something at the core of evidence based medicine. A lot of clinicians ask me about writing critical appraisal of randomized controlled trials, critical appraisal of qualitative research, critical appraisal of systematic review etc. Well, there is no good yes or no answer to such questions. It comes with knowledge and a lot of practice. The critical appraisal skills programme CASP has some important tools. Personally I like the EQUATOR Network tools and checklist. At the ned of the video, you will learn the skills of writing critical appraisal of journal articles. You may use the same techniques to write critical appraisal of case control study, critical appraisal of RCT, critical appraisal of research article, critical appraisal of systematic review and meta-analysis.
