Faster, Higher, Stronger: Physics at the Olympic Games
The Olympic Games are here! With their motto of "citius, altius, fortius" – Greek for "faster, higher, stronger", the Paris 2024 games will allow us to watch some amazing athletes perform. At the heart of Olympic sports is motion, either of the athletes themselves (running, jumping) or of something thrown (javelin, shot put) or propelled (archery, cycling, sailing), and usually a mix of them (football, hockey). And motion is a good excuse to bring in some physics! So join us as we take a look at Physics behind the Olympic Games!
