Adele - Someone like you - COVER by Simone Goth
Now here comes a song originally sung by Adele, called "Someone like you", and I covered it. Who am I? ;) Simone Goth, ha.
“Someone Like You” is only the second single from Adele’s sophomore album 21. This track, as you all know... came from a sad love that had ended, unlike most of the songs on 21. Adele wrote it with Dan Wilson. It turned out to be Adele’s first number-one single in the UK.
There are some first evers, the one I like most is that it won the first ever Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance in 2012.
Something else I really liked and found is what Adele says about herself about it: ''We completely happened by accident, that’s what I mean by “glory days” and stuff like that in it. It was never really meant… it was never meant to happen. I don’t think we ever felt like that about each other at the beginning, and it just turned into it. The first chorus of the last chorus – ‘cause it’s repeated – I’m actually crying in it. Which makes me feel really, a bit 'euugh’, but it’s really, really beautiful. I don’t think I’ll ever write a nice or a better song. I think that might be my song.''
In 2012 I came back to Germany after some wonderful years in Ireland and this is where a truly sorrowful time of my life started. So this is kinda "my favourite sad" song. Around that time I started my first Youtube ideas to have something to do in my free time to keep the faith. It is not quite obvious on this channel how much sadness is lying underneath all those silly videos. It is what it is and I do wish you a wonderful rest of this glorious week.
