Japan's Prime Minister announced that he would step down, so Japan's ruling party held an inner-party presidential election on September 27, 2024. This Election will be crucial because the Liberal Democratic Party, Japan's ruling party, is experiencing severe backlash from its fundraising money scandal. With political factions officially disbanded, 12 candidates announced interest in the premiership (as of September 12, nine candidates formally announced their candidacy).

In this video, we will be reviewing the top 7 possible candidates: (1) Toshimitsu Motegi; (2) Taro Kono; (3) Shigeru Ishiba; (4) Shinjiro Koizumi; (5) Takayuki Kobayashi; (6) Sanae Takaichi; and (7) Yoko Kamikawa. This video will not cover the policy goals of each candidate but will instead investigate the internal party politics that may affect the election.

I also make a prediction towards the end of the video, so like and subscribe to see whether I'm wrong or if this video ages like fine wine 🍷
