Sometimes people ask me, well, Carol, what's a good resource? I want to learn more about this. Well, I have a whole bookshelf full of resources. And I pulled a book that I wrote that I really loved a lot, and I wanted to be able to share it with you. It is "Difficult Conversations" by Douglas Stone, Bruce Patton and Sheila Heen, they're out of the Harvard Negotiation Project.

And the subtitle of the book is How to Discuss What Matters Most. Why do I like this? They give lots of scenarios and lots of specific tools to be able to do and if you're short on time, at the very back, they give, essentially a roadmap to how to have the difficult conversations.

Now, like any good book, I personalize it to what I need and want. I star, I write notes all over it, to be able to get more out of it. So, if you want to give a fairly easy read that has lots of good details on it, "Difficult Conversations, How to Discuss What Matters Most".
