Political talk shows are a breeding ground for disinformation. Far-right fake news spreaders have a field day here, because the programs are usually live and always without adequate fact-checking. We dropped everything for the last 36 hours and conducted an experiment during the ARD election debate: Are talk shows even subject to fact-checking? Spoiler alert: At least live, the facts don't stand a chance. We had to make 34 corrections, and we didn't even examine all aspects of the program. What misinformation was spread, what the reality is, and what our conclusion is from this experiment—see for yourselves!
