"So here I am.. without a clue, trying the best I can."
After a month, I'm back with another RSMV. Now I can confidently say, I am as versed in After Effects CC as I was with Sony Vegas, perhaps even more so. I'm really glad I gave this a try.
Time flies. 9 years ago I wouldn't have thought I am playing the same game as I was back then. 9 years ago, I wouldn't even dream of having a maxed out character. 7 years ago, I was first exposed to RSMV's and their creator's hard work shown through their videos.
Little did I know I would become one of them. I started making RSMV's in 2008, hit 100 subscribers and closed my account.. little did I know, I will be back in 2013. 2 years and 50 subscribers later, RSMVs went from being mainstream to having a cult following.
But I still love them. I love to watch people's hard work, shown through the beauty of their videos and the hours they put in gathering people, filming and editing. Countless unpaid hours fuelled by 2 things- for the ones who watch, and their own passion.
I did not rush this video. When I ran out of inspiration I simply left it be and came back only when I felt like it. Then I discovered, I enjoy editing Old School the most, followed closely by RS3. In my opinion RS2 is not a good medium, the camera angle is too high when you floor it, hence you can't see the horizon when you zoom too closely. Hence there's no background.
The characters in RS2 aren't as symmetrical as RS07, and the clothing textures are bad. Nevertheless, mouse wheel controls camera movement, HD graphics is awesome for scenic shots. Multak's RSMV server is just so good and customised, I had to use it.
This is why I chose this song. I was first exposed to Rival Summers by Incognito's "Learning to Live" RSMV. The way he did it had so much beauty, and the song was perfect.. albeit short. You can view it here: • Video
"Believe in Me" is the perfect fit for my RSMV. Sometimes I doubt myself, why am I doing this, why am I wasting my time on something that probably go unappreciated. I felt disheartened at times. But over time, I mellowed out and just did it out of pure enjoyment.
Watching and making RSMV's was a solace in my life, most notably many years of school and 2 years of army.
That is why I want to share this with everyone. I don't care how many subs I get, how many views, they all don't matter. What matters is I have fun, I get to appreciate the songs I like in my own way.
