Runescape Music Video- The Killers Miss Atomic Bomb
The story:
A man was new in town, met a girl dancing at a pub, decided to talk to her, eventually spending a lot of time together and became a couple.
He promised to marry after he struck it rich, but the girl couldn't wait, so she left him, reluctantly, for another man.
Mr Brightside misses her too much, upon chancing her photo on his mantelpiece many years later suddenly remembered the day he made his promise in the desert.
He went back to reminisce for old times sake, but it was much too painful; he was heartbroken.
The song tries to tell us some things in life can't wait, until it's too late and its gone, there is no point regretting.
Throughout my journey in video making, I realised that I do not actually re- watch my own videos that I thought I had done in a hurry.
I rushed them out, so I could have more time to do other things. I felt they were not up to my best standards.
I'm talking about the previous RSMV short about of same song, specifically.
So I chose to make this.
I realised that when inspiration hits, I could do a lengthy part of the video in 1 sitting.
Yet at other times due to a lack of inspiration I sit in front of the laptop the whole night and only edit 3 seconds of the song.
The lack of motivation, at times, procrastinating.. nothing new to making full RSMVs.. probably why everyone uploads shorts these days, or do MEP's.
The point is, I learnt not to rush the good stuff, art takes time.
I should have the same outlook in life as well, some things can't be rushed.
I certainly took my time with this one. I watched and edited many times till near perfection.
I am very satisfied with my work.
Still learning how to use AAE. Pity my 32 bit laptop can only handle CS4.. haha.
They tied this song with Mr Brightside, which was portrayed by Brandon Flowers in the official music video.
I tried to make my scape character as close to his look as possible which explains the black jacket and suit pants.
Same for the girl, made to look like the dancer in the Miss Atomic Bomb official video.
Arzon made a RSMV for Mr Brightside back in the days. It inspired me.
