DIY Mushroom Scramble and Meal Topper for My Dogs
I make this scramble as a meal topper for my dogs - I mix it into their dog food to take the chill off because I don't feed cold raw straight from the fridge. It's not that this is bad; it's just a preference. I learned from my holistic veterinarian, who treated one of my dogs for cancer, that regularly feeding cold food can lead to stagnation in the body. So I always bring their food closer to room temperature.
This scramble was just something I do for my dogs when I can get the ingredients on sale:
** pasture-raised chicken eggs
** baby bok choy (sometimes I also add broccoli and collard greens)
** functional mushrooms (shiitake and oyster mushrooms mostly)
The amount of each ingredient is based on your preference. I saute using a quarter-size of virgin olive oil, covering the pain to allow the condensation to help with the cooking.
