Lake Kussharo, the largest caldera lake in Japan, is surrounded by volcanoes and hot springs.
The "Sunayu" on the shore of the lake is a fun spot where hot spring water gushes out when you dig in the sand. You can even dig as hard as you like to create an outdoor bath of your own size.
There are also footbaths set up so that you can easily relax and unwind from your trip.
