Asthma क्या होता है? | Asthma Disease Causes and Treatment | SRIAAS

In this foundational and important video, Dr. Priyanka Singh explains what asthma is and its causes. Do you know what asthma is and what causes it? Watch now to learn more about asthma and how to manage it before it worsens. This video will help you understand the different factors that contribute to asthma and how to better care for yourself or loved ones living with this condition.

UNDERSTANDING ASTHMA:
To understand asthma, we need to understand the respiratory system. The respiratory tract works by passively inhaling oxygen from the environment, which goes inside the body. At the same time, carbon dioxide comes out of the body. This oxygen is then supplied from the lungs to the heart through capillaries. These capillaries take the oxygenated blood and send it to the heart, and the heart supplies the oxygen to the entire body.

When the body uses this oxygen, a waste product called carbon dioxide is produced, which comes from the heart to the lungs and then through bronchioles. A person can develop asthma symptoms if there is any problem in this process.

Asthmatic patients react hypersensitively to specific allergens like dust, smoke, or strong smells. When their body comes into contact with these allergens, a hypersensitive reaction develops inside their body, leading to symptoms such as coughing, difficulty breathing, heaviness in the chest, and wheezing sound from the chest. If not controlled at this point, the disease can also convert into COPD, which can cause permanent damage to the body.

CAUSES/REASONS:
Every patient has different asthma triggers:
Some patients may have asthma symptoms due to genetic factors (a parent having asthma can pass it on to the next generation).
Some have asthma symptoms because of  indoor allergens (like dust or humidity)
Some complaints are caused by pollen grains (complaints by this type of patient generally increase in February, March, or April).

Additionally, some patients may have exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (meaning asthma symptoms occurring whenever you exercise) or occupational asthma (asthma due to exposure to particles like silica or asbestos in factories).

Ayurveda promises prompt relief with enduring benefits as it treats diseases from the root. Initiating ayurvedic treatment for asthma and other respiratory diseases can significantly alleviate symptoms and improve overall well-being.
