This video shows a tactile paver that was installed incorrectly at the corner of a busy intersection.
Did you know that tactile pavers are designed to be oriented in specific ways to effectively guide visually impaired individuals? As this video explains, when a tactile paver is installed incorrectly it can be extremely dangerous. Individuals with visual impairments rely on these pavers to lead them onto a safe path while crossing the street. They are also used to help people detect possibly hazardous areas such as railway platforms and staircases.
