N. Washington St. 10-50, Rollover: 8-29-20
At approx. 18:50, Carbondale Fire Department was dispatched to a rollover 10-50 on N. Washington St. Upon arrival, it was found that the driver had been ejected through the sunroof and was trapped under the roof of the car. Firefighters, paramedics, police, and citizens lifted the vehicle off of the driver, while paramedics pulled the driver out from under the car. The driver was seriously injured, but the two other occupants were not severely injured.
The vehicle was traveling northbound on N. Washington St. at a high rate of speed, when the driver missed a bend in the road, hit the curb, and subsequently flipped and landed on it's roof.
