Install any Ubuntu's variant (full or core) from 70 MB installation media (netinstall)
Kubuntu, Xubuntu and Ubuntu GNOME / MATE / Budgie / Studio are popular Ubuntu variants that are easy to use and install.
Just this simplicity is due to the presence of packages that include a live mode, with all the software included, to be therefore ready. But often we are faced with a mountain of unwanted packages, or the need to download multiple packages, to dirty the distro.
The less careful, moreover, are predisposed to download more ISO images, although the Ubuntu variants are only distinguished only by the Desktop Environment (KDE, XFCE, GNOME, LXDE ....), which is only a package:
we can switch from Xubuntu in Lubuntu, or from Ubuntu to Kubuntu, and so on. In the end, we are using the same distro, Ubuntu, with different desktop environments, installable and interchangeable with a few commands from the terminal.
There are "core" versions of the aforementioned variants, which only include the Desktop Environment and the distro themes.
If you are already familiar with installations of Debian (the main distro where are based Ubuntu and hundreds of other GNU Linux distributions), you can use a minimal ISO, only 70 MB, which includes only the language packs and the kernel. Download Ubuntu 20.04 netinstall (mini.iso) here:

Another advantage of this ISO, especially regarding Uubuntu LTS, is that you can always download the latest updates directly during installation. ISO also includes an expert mode, which allows you to edit multiple parameters (being Ubuntu, it includes systemd and snapd, from Canonical, but not the software center)... but that's not what I wanted to show in this video. I've already given you too many headaches with Arch and FreeBSD installations. ;)
