When Netflix app is the current app in focus on your TV and you allow it idle for several minutes, Netflix starts playing a slideshow of some selected titles it thinks you would like to watch.
When you find an interesting movie, show, drama or documentary you would like to watch, pressing the OK button on your remote should simply play it. This seems not possible for now. You rather have to spend time memorizing or writing the title, then go back to Netflix home and search for the title.
This extra effort imposed on the user would reduce the number of plays from the slide. The Netflix watcher could have either been busy, lazy, or sleeping that Netflix became idle and went into idle mode. So making it to be as easy and quick as a one click on the slide show to watch a title would result in many more views. This is because the titles on the slide show seem to be highly rated ones that a viewer won't want to miss, though lazy, busy or falling asleep.
