Tension Between Males and Lionesses on a Mission
The lionesses from both small prides seem to be very busy and active currently. Apart from the two eight-month-old cubs belonging to the young Madrid pride lioness, her mother seems to be showing signs of being in estrus. The big Moditlo pride lioness may also already be pregnant or at least she is still in estrus, so more cubs may be on the way soon.
There was some visible tension between the 2 Marataba males over the big Moditlo pride lioness, and they have been off on their own quite a lot. The male with the missing tail tuft has been mostly with the Madrid pride, and the other male has been mostly with the Moditlo pride.
