More and more we're seeing employers treating employees like expendable assets while, for their part, employees are seeing themselves as marketable commodities. As loyalty to any one company has declined dramatically, what are the implications of the so-called "quitting economy"? And does loyalty still matter in an evolving job market scenario? We put those questions to Denise Rousseau who is a Carnegie Mellon University professor that developed the concept of a "psychological contract" in order to better specify how employers and employees understand the employment relationship.
