Convert Pivot Table to Standard List
1. Remove both the Subtotals and Grand Totals from the Pivot Table Report.
2. In Excel 2007 & 2010, ensure that you are using either the Outline or Tabular report layouts – NOT the new “default” Compact layout.
3. Also in Excel 2007 & 2010, remove the Field Headers and the + / – Symbols.
4. Now, select the entire Pivot talbe (use Ctrl + A) and copy it to the clipboard.
5. Use Paste Special Values to paste the Pivot Table Results.
I often find myself struggling to deal with data that has been rendered almost unusable by the data provider who has converted it to a cross tab format. Usually they think they are helping and have probably started with a nice flat list then spent ages formatting it so the data spreads out across the columns. Sometimes they have achieved this by putting the data into a pivot table but then have pasted the table as values and removed all links to the underlying data. Very helpful.
Hi, I have a pivot table and I want to convert this to a normal excel sheet. Theer are 3 records in the pivot table and now I want these 3 records as 3 column heads in the excel sheet. As a example there is project name, user name and description as records in the pivot table and now I want project name, user name and description as 3 separate columns.
