I've worked as a librarian for over six years and learned a lot about how to take care of all sorts of "stuff." Storing video games is not so different to what libraries do with books, movies and more! I applied some of the knowledge from being a librarian to put together storage options for my video game collection, so that it remains safe, neat and easily accessible in the future. Hopefully this inspires someone to take a look at their old game collection in 2025 and beyond!

Companies don’t want you to own anything. This is especially true for video game companies. Gamers are pushed to purchase games digitally more than ever. Xbox and PlayStation have both started to sell consoles without disc drives. The entire Steam marketplace is digital. What's going to happen to our digital libraries when one day the stores shut down? We've already seen the beginning of this, with storefronts on consoles like the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U shutting down entirely.

Also, yes, I know - receipts are made with thermal paper. I will never forget.
