CD cases, or jewel cases, are fragile. In the library, these get damaged and have to be replaced all the time. The same can happen to game collectors. Here are some tips and suggestions for storing these as safely and as possible without breaking the bank.

The adoption of the CD required an adequate way to protect it. Something that could be cheap and easily mass produced. Thus, the CD case was born. You probably own at least a few, especially if you’re a Millennial. Many of us have stacks of these somewhere, with all the music and software we bought over the years. And I’m gonna be honest - these cases are the worst.

Of course, there are lots of different kinds of CD cases, from clamshell to tried and true keep cases (DVD cases). And there are weird, hard-to-replace cases like those for Sega Genesis games. But jewel cases, in my experience, are the first to go and break at the slightest force.
