Dry chamomile is manually fed into a flower head separator by a worker standing on a platform who also lifts and turns the chamomile with a tool. Boxes are placed by a forklift onto the platfrom just beside the worker.

System works with dry chamomile, both preselected by shape and size or not. When preselected or preclassified, it makes the process of flower head separation with stem of up to a lot quicker and more efficient.

Preselecting or preseparating line from Herbas can be seen over this link:    • Processing line for fresh chamomile – sepa...

The final flower head with stem remainder is up to 16 mm long.

The dry chamomile that is fed into the line should be clean of metal objects or stones that could damage the parts of the machine. If any of this hard objects find their way into the machine, safety clutch quickly disengages preventing major damage. Pneumatic separator removes empty flower heads or any lighter impurities. This can be milled for lower quality tea bag infusiones, also called TBC (tea bag cut). It also collects any remaining stones, earth particles and metal pieces so that they can be removed at the end of the shift.

Inspection belt can accomodate two workers on manual cleaining and picking out impurities or bad quality material. In case of optical sorters, a tailor made conveyor can be offered instead or additionally in order to automatize this process.

Finally, vibrational sieve separates three fractions:
very short stems + petals,
pulvis (tubular flowers),
dust.
