And here we have it. Though, once again, I just played with a guide up to look at a few things. This time less because I couldn't figure it out, and more because the things I did figure out didn't work. And I literally could not tell that a door in the last area was a door. I never would have seen that, the graphics simply didn't register to me as "this is a place I can go".
And that's the biggest problem with adventure games. You can solve 95% of the problems... but if you don't solve ALL of them, you're done. You're stuck, there's no moving on. And then what happens when the problem is outside your control? When you HAVE the right answer, and it doesn't work. Like when I was trying to close the fridge and it simply refused to let me? That is where this genre fails. Even if this game, specifically, is one of the best examples of it. Genuinely, this is among the very best adventure games I've ever played, and just the nature of the genre it still frustrated me to no end. -- Watch live at / the_nametag
