Homefront playthrough Part 1
Oh god, I was not expecting this game to be this bad. The entire premise is already one of the dumbest scenarios anyone could have come up with. But the game itself is a prime example of WHY I hate the entire "modern" "military shooter" genre. It's just so damned boring. You're lead by the nose from one area to another by a group of immortal AI companions who went through Star Wars Stromtrooper aiming school, you're supposed to care about these characters but I find them all to be assholes, you're shown all these "horrors" of war crimes and genocide and I just couldn't care less becuase the whole thing is SO heavy handed as to be laughable. And that's not even commenting on the gameplay. The standard "you can only hold two weapons" schtick with the most egregious regenerating health I've ever seen. Wolverine would be jealous. Enemies are dropped so quickly it's like a carnival shooting gallery done poorly. And then there's the product placement. Just.. wow. I've never seen such blatant in your face product placement in a video game. Did they even know what they were getting into? "This white phosphorous war crime brought to you be Tiger Direct!" "This mass grave sponsored by White Castle." This game is BAD and should be avoided at all costs. So here I am running it like the idiot I am. -- Watch live at / the_nametag
