Gone Fishin' Osprey HD 1080p
Osprey rely mainly of fish for food whether you find them in the wilds of the Rocky Mountains, in Ontario's Kawartha Lakes or along the South Carolina Coast. This particular osprey developed a technique that involved hunting from a well-trafficked bridge. People would stroll past, cars would slow to look at it and all the time the osprey kept a keen eye on the waters below. Dolphin, pelicans and cormorants also came to feed here.
This osprey, at this location, hunted more like a bald eagle does. It swooped down and grabbed its prey, in every case that I saw, a trumpet fish. It would then consume part of the fish and take the rest back to its mate on the nest.
