Canon EOS 100D/SL1 Color Grade Test
This is a basic test of color accuracy and how easy it is to grade footage from a Canon SL1/100D.
I shot with the Prolost Flat picture style (http://prolost.com/blog/2012/4/10/pro...) and graded it with Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015 and Lumetri.
The camera settings where 1080p, 30fps, 1/60th shutter, ISO 800. The lens was Canon's 24mm STM lens wide open at f/2.8.
I may also do a test where I shoot with the Technicolor CineStyle and see how gradeable that is.
As it is, the 100D with the 24mm STM lens with a 64GB SD card is pretty hard to beat in terms of cost/performance. The T5i is the more configurable camera (with Magic Lantern), but costs $250 more than the SL1, and the SL1 has a cleaner picture at higher ISO than the T5i and does video at the same bitrate as the T5i (h.264 at 330MB per minute).
I can outfit an SL1 with a lens and SD card for the same price as the T5i body only, so unless you're going to go with something higher end, the 100D/SL1 is the price/performance king, and it's smaller and lighter.
