Wars are expensive. The Russian government is running a gigantic deficit as energy income has been reduced by more than 40%. Russia is financing the war by depleting its financial reserves. More than half of the $600 billion foreign reserves are frozen by the West. What will happen when Russia runs out of money? Will they run out of money soon?
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Glen Grant is an international security and defence advisor - after working as a defence attache in Finland and Estonia for the United Kingdom, has worked closely with Ukraine’s Parliamentary Defence Committee and mentors and advises Ukrainian officers, NGOs and defence volunteers.
Grant points his finger at not only Austria and Switzerland but the US and France, who allow money to be funnelled through their countries.
❗️ Key takeaway: Body count or troop movement isn't how the Kremlin measures losing or winning; they are playing a much longer game, according to Grant.
