Backpacking Alpine Lakes Wilderness - In the Central Cascades is a must if you want to see the Gems of Washington state, high up in the mountains, these lakes can offer solitude and will captivate you with their beauty, the ever changing landscapes and the endless mountain peaks will blow you away.
Rachel Lake - Our journey started via The Rachel Lake Trailhead, located in the Snoqualmie Pass. This trail is Rooty and Rocky and has many obstacles. It is 4 miles to the lake with 1600 ft elevation gain.

Lila Lake - From Rachel lake, make your way to the right and follow the trail towards the ridge line, there will be many switched with views of Rachel Lake from above until you make it up ridge. The trail then splits with a sign pointing Left for Rampart Lakes and Right to Lila Lake, turn right and follow the ridge line. As you make it out of the woods, stay right at the Y for Lila Lake, left goes up to Alta Mountain.

Alta Mountain - It is around a mile from Lila Lake to the top. Alta Mountain has gorgeous 360 degree views. From the top, you can see Lila Lake, Rachel Lake, Rampart Lakes, Gold Creek Pond, Mt Adams, Mt Rainier, and the Snoqualmie Pass.
