Why Should I Be Baptized?
"Why should I be baptized? I remember studying with someone once who asked that very question, and it really struck me. The Bible passages we examined together shed so much light on the answer. I shared with him what we found in God’s Word because, ultimately, that’s what matters. When we ask, 'Why should I be baptized?' the real question is, 'What does God say about it?'
It all comes down to this: Do I believe in Jesus? Do I believe in what He says? In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus declares that He has all authority and commands us to go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Clearly, baptism was important to the Lord.
But there's more to it. Jesus also addresses our obedience. In Luke 6:46, He asks, 'Why do you call me "Lord, Lord," and not do what I say?' So, when we think about baptism, it’s not just about what people say; it's about what the Lord Himself has commanded."
