DSA 2024 - RMAF MPA Program
Signed at LIMA'23, two Leonardo ATR-72MP Maritime Patrol Aircraft of @PRTUDM are currently being built in Italy. No official detail as to what capabilities the new MPA, designated as P-72M, did we procure. Leonardo and the AF showcased slightly different models of the MPA (yup, layman me do use this as journalistic guides 😅) at their booth. No official confirmation coming from the person manning both booths, but Leonardo did have a QR quote which led me to some information about what's entails of their ATR-72MP. The AF listed down in print, perhaps their choices in configuring the operation needs of the P-72M MPA.
Do a comparison on the capabilities list and figure out what the AF might be getting and the items that are not in. As weight reduces the operation range and speed of the MPA, this might well be one of the considerations that certain capabilities are forgo.
