Common-sense definitions -- a story is the “recounting of facts with a beginning, middle and end”, “dramatic events relayed in great detail”, “narratives that make us identify with others -- are the worst. Why? Watch the story of the blind king and the elephant to find out how and why good stories need to tell us things we did not know and that change the way we think about the world.
